Applications now accepted for new participants on the Rural Social Scheme.

Sligo LEADER Partnership Rural Social Scheme (RSS)

The Rural Social Scheme aims to provide income support for farmers who are currently in receipt of specific long term social welfare payments and to assist Community and Voluntary Groups in rural communities with the delivery of essential local services.

The RSS now has 124 participants in the Sligo LEADER Partnership catchment area and has additional places available. The participants are undertaking a wide range of work under the schemes in the community such as:
 General caretaking and maintenance of sporting/community facilities
 Village enhancement including maintenance of walk ways
 Graveyard maintenance
 Care for the elderly

Rural Social Scheme Participants
Additional places are now available, subject to eligibility. (The participant must be in receipt of Farm Assist, Jobseekers Allowance or Jobseekers Benefit if coming from CE) Application is by completed application form.

Rural Social Scheme Sponsor Groups
Sponsor groups who wish to apply for RSS workers need to complete an application form outlining a detailed work proposal and indicating the number of participants requested.
