Community Reporter Training Course

The Community Reporter course is aimed at teaching community representatives and organisations how to communicate professionaly in a modern media environment.  The course will equip participants with skills in radio and video production, including interview techniques, editing and recording training. Participants will identify and script a sixty second video for their festival or group. The course will assist participants in maximising their marketing budget.

In an increasingly busy news cycle where media organisations are under pressure with staffing levels having well trained members of your community group or organisation who have the skills to communicate professionally and efficiently will give your group a competitive edge when it comes to getting air time or editorial.

Ocean FM’s professional trainers are experienced people working in the industry today. They are the people making the decision on what gets broadcast and what doesn’t. They are ideally placed to give community groups the inside track and the course is a great opportunity to establish relationships with media professionals.

By the end of the course participants will have in depth knowledge of the regional media environment and will also have produced a ten minute documentary on their community group which will be broadcast on Ocean FM.
