National Trails Day 2012

National Trails Day will take place on Sunday 7th October. This is a great opportunity to get out and explore some of the great trails that have been developed across County Sligo in a variety of stunning locations around lakes, mountains and forest tracks.

A number of walks are currently scheduled to take place in Sligo with something to suit all ages and abilities.

The following is a list of the walks where events are taking place locally for National Trails Day.

  • Gorterslin/ French Mans Grave/ Lough Talt Scenic Walk
  • Boithrin na nAsal (Geevagh Hidden Trail)
  • Doorly Park 4K Family Treasure Trail
  • Kayaking on Garavogue River (Doorly Park)
  • Tower Walk (Rockfield, Coolaney)
  • Owenykeevan Loop (Culleens)
  • Find the ‘CACHE’(Introduction to ‘Geocaching and GPS’)
  • The Sligo Way
